A lecture by Dr. Nafeez Ahmed on the origins of terrorism as a form of political violence deployed by Western states since before the Second World War, the role of US-UK covert action in manipulating terrorist activity during the Cold War and post-Cold War periods in relation to cases such ‘Operation Gladio’ in Western Europe as well as al-Qaeda networks in the Middle East and Central Asia – until today.
